Sept 6th - 7th | The FOUNDRY invites you to step inside and experience Improvisations in Color (2017–2024)—a powerful collection of abstract works by Philadelphia-based artist and musician/producer Tim Motzer. This installation, on view since May and now extended through the Arts Fest, showcases Motzer’s bold use of color, texture, and raw energy.
Guests are welcome to explore the studio, meet Tim, and browse original works for sale both Saturday and Sunday. On both days, join us for a special celebration of improvised art and music as Tim Motzer performs live—bringing his world-renowned sound to the gallery for an unforgettable experience. Saturday 12-5pm and Sunday 12 - 6pm Live music from 2-4pm. Light snacks will be provided.

Explore Improvisations in Color (2017–2024)—a striking body of large and small abstract work that blurs the line between painting and performance. Tim will be in the studio all weekend to talk process, sound, and inspiration—and if something speaks to you, originals will be available for purchase.

about Tim Motzer
Tim Motzer is a renowned sonic pioneer, known for his textured acoustic-electro guitar voice, his genre-defying music and collaborations with artists like David Sylvian, Ursula Rucker, and King Britt. With over 100 album credits and global tours, his work spans experimental music, dance, and film/TV. He co-leads PAKT and runs the 1k Recordings label. As a visual artist, Tim creates abstract impressionist works, often used as album covers. His hand-painted limited CD editions merge his music and art..
